The infirmity of the flesh excuses man. — As if he plainly entreated, saying: Remember, I beseech Thee, that through the flesh I come from the earth, and through its perishing I tend toward the earth. Behold, then, the matter of my origin and the penalty of my end, and spare a fault so quickly passing away. But since he has set forth the quality of man as created, he now subjoins the order of man as propagated, saying:
