V ers. 4. — Et ibant filii ejus, et faciebant convi- via per domos. 27. In filiis Job convivia celebrantibus praedicato- res intelligendi. — Filii facturi convivia per domos ibant, cum praedicatores apostoli in diversis mundi regionibus, virtutum epulas audientibus, quasi eden- tibus ministrabant. Unde et eisdem filiis de esurien- tibus plebibus dicitur: Date illis vos manducare ( Matth. xiv, 17; xv, 32; Marc. vi, 37; Luc. ix, 13). Et rursum: Dimittere eos jejunos nolo, ne deficiant in via. Id est, in praedicatione vestra verbum consola- tionis accipiant, ne a veritatis pabulo jejuni rema- nentes, in hujus vitae labore succumbant. Hinc rur- sum eisdem filiis dicitur:
第四節。——「他的兒子按著日子在各人家裡設擺筵席。」二十七。約伯設擺筵席的兒子，應理解為傳道者。——兒子們要設擺筵席時走遍各家，正如使徒的傳道者在世界各地，向聽者供應美德的筵席，彷彿供應給用餐的人。因此對這些兒子論到飢餓的民眾說：「你們給他們吃吧」（太十四17；十五32；可六37；路九13）。又說：「我不願餓著打發他們回去，恐怕他們在路上困乏。」就是說：在你們的傳道中讓他們領受安慰的話，免得他們因缺乏真理之糧而空腹，就在今生的勞苦中倒下。因此又對這些兒子說：
Ver. 4. — 'And his sons went and made feasts through their houses.' 27. By the sons of Job celebrating feasts, the preachers are to be understood. — The sons, about to make feasts, went through the houses, when the apostolic preachers, in the diverse regions of the world, ministered the banquets of virtues, as it were to those eating, to those who heard. Whence also to these same sons it is said concerning the hungering peoples: 'Give ye them to eat' (Matt. xiv, 17; xv, 32; Mark vi, 37; Luke ix, 13). And again: 'I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint by the way.' That is, in your preaching let them receive the word of consolation, lest, remaining fasting from the fodder of truth, they sink down in the toil of this life. Hence again to these same sons it is said:

Operamini non cibum qui perit, sed qui permanet in vitam aeternam ( Joan. vi, 27). Quae convivia quomodo exhiberentur, adjungitur, cum protinus subinfertur:
