V ers. 10.— Quia non conclusit ostia ventris qui portavit me, nec abstulit mala ab oculis meis. 47. Concupiscentioe ostia consensus noster aperuit, unde innumera mala.—Sicut et superius dictum est, non conclusit, dicit aperuit; et non abstulit, irrogavit. Haec itaque nox, videlicet culpa, ostia ventris aperuit, quia concepto ad peccatum homini desideria concu- piscentiae reseravit. Ostia quippe ventris sunt deside- ria concupiscentiae, d de quibus per prophetam dicitur: Intra in cubicula tua, claude ostia tua ( Isai. xxvi, 20). Cubicula quippe ingredimur, cum secreta nostrae mentis intramus. Ostia autem claudimus, cum desi- deria illicita coercemus.
第十節——「因為它沒有關上懷我之腹的門，也沒有從我眼前挪去禍患。」四十七、我們的同意開了情慾之門，由此生出無數的禍患。正如上文所說，「沒有關上」意即「開了」；「沒有挪去」意即「加上了」。因此這黑夜，即罪，開了腹之門，因為它向那懷罪的人開啟了情慾的種種慾念。因為腹之門就是情慾的慾念，論到這些，藉先知說：「進入你的內室，關上你的門」（以賽亞書二十六章20節）。因為當我們進入自己心靈的隱密之處時，就是進了內室。而當我們約束不法的慾念時，就是關上了門。
Verse 10.—'Because it shut not up the doors of the womb that bore me, nor took away evils from my eyes.' 47. Our consent opened the doors of concupiscence, whence come countless evils. As was also said above, 'it shut not up' means 'it opened'; and 'it took not away' means 'it inflicted.' This night, then, namely sin, opened the doors of the womb, because to the man conceived unto sin it unlocked the desires of concupiscence. For the doors of the womb are the desires of concupiscence, of which it is said through the prophet: 'Enter into thy chambers, shut thy doors' (Isa. 26:20). For we enter the chambers when we go into the secret places of our mind. And we shut the doors when we restrain unlawful desires.

Haec itaque concupiscentiae carnalis ostia, dum consensus noster aperuit, ad in- numera nos mala corruptionis pertraxit. Unde e jam punc sub mortalitatis pondere gemimus, quamvis ad hoc arbitrio nostro a venerimus; quia et judicii sic justitia exigit, ut quod sponte fecimus, inviti tolere- mus. Sequitur:

When, therefore, our consent opened these doors of carnal concupiscence, it dragged us to the countless evils of corruption. Hence we now groan under the burden of mortality, although we came to this by our own choice; because the justice of judgment also so requires, that what we did willingly, we should bear unwillingly. There follows:
