V ers. 21. i Nec remansit de cibo ejus. 25. Cibus ejus est omne hoc quod perverso desi- derio concupivit. Sed percusso hypocrita, de cibo suo nil remanet, quia cum ipse ad aeterna supplicia ducitur, a cunctis bonis quae hic possederat aliena- tur. Unde et adhuc subditur: I bid. — Propterea nihil permanebit de bonis ejus. Si enim de bonis suis ei aliquid permaneret, se- eum quae habuerat tolleret. Sed quia omnia ambiens timere judicem noluit, j ex hac vita subtractus, ad judicem nudus vadit. Cui tamen iniquo ad retribu- tionem minus est quod in subsequenti poena crucia- tur, si in hac saltem vita liber esse permittitur. Sed nulla est libertas in culpa, quia scriptum est:
第二十一節。他的食物一無所剩。二五、他的食物就是他以邪僻之欲所貪求的一切。然而當偽善者被擊打時，他的食物一無所剩，因為當他自己被領往永刑之際，他便與此世所擁有的一切美物隔絕。因此又補充說：同上——所以他的財物一無存留。因為他的財物若尚有分毫存留給他，他便會將所擁有的一同帶走。但因他貪圖萬物、不肯敬畏審判者，既從此生被撤去，便赤身往審判者那裡去。然而對這惡人而言，就報應來說，他在隨後的刑罰中受苦尚屬較輕，倘若他至少在此生蒙准得自由。但罪咎中並無自由，因為經上記著說：
Verse 21. Neither did anything remain of his food. 25. His food is all that he coveted with perverse desire. But when the hypocrite is stricken, nothing remains of his food, because when he himself is led to eternal torments, he is estranged from all the goods he here possessed. Whence it is still further added: Ibid.—Therefore nothing shall remain of his goods. For if anything of his goods remained to him, he would carry away with himself what he had possessed. But because, coveting all things, he would not fear the Judge, being withdrawn from this life, he goes naked to the Judge. Yet for the wicked man, as regards retribution, it is a lesser thing that he is tortured in the punishment that follows, if at least he is permitted to be free in this life. But there is no freedom in guilt, for it is written:

Ubi spiritus Domini, ibi libertas ( II Cor. iii, 17). Et ple- rumque perversae menti ipsa sua culpa fit poena. Unde et recte subjungitur:
