V ers. 13.— Licet haec celes in corde tuo, tamen scio quia universorum memineris. 82. Vocatio gentium in consilio Dei abscondita.— Ac si aperte dicat: Cur de me trepido, qui et uni- versas gentes quia colligas scio? Quod tamen in corde celas, quia hoc adhuc aperto sermone non indicas. Sed qui et universorum reminisceris, me procul du- bio de venia certum facis. [ Vet. XXXIX.] Scien- dum vero est quia in quibusdam factis et certi de venia reddimur, et post perpetratas culpas ad abso- lutionis nostrae fiduciam correctione et poenitentia subsequente roboramur; perpetratae tamen nostrae nequitiae adhuc memoria tangimur, et cogitatione illicita aversi nolentesque pulsamur.
第十三節。——「這些事你雖隱藏在心裡，我卻知道你記念這一切。」82. 外邦人的蒙召隱藏在神的旨意中。——彷彿他明明地說：我為何為自己戰兢呢？我既知道你也必招聚萬國。然而這事你隱藏在心裡，因你尚未以公開的話語指明它。但你既記念一切，就無疑使我對赦免確信無疑。但當知道，在某些事上，我們既被使對赦免有確據，又在犯過之後，藉隨後的改正與補贖，被堅固而對我們的赦罪有信心；然而我們仍被所犯之惡的記憶所觸動，並在背轉、不願的情形下，被不法的思念所侵擾。
Verse 13. — 'Although Thou concealest these things in Thy heart, yet I know that Thou rememberest all.' 82. The calling of the Gentiles hidden in the counsel of God. — As if he openly said: Why do I tremble concerning myself, who know that Thou wilt gather in all the nations also? Yet this Thou concealest in Thy heart, because Thou dost not yet declare it in open speech. But Thou who dost remember all, dost without doubt make me certain of pardon. But it is to be known that in certain deeds we are both rendered certain of pardon, and, after faults committed, are strengthened unto the confidence of our absolution by correction and penance following after; yet we are still touched by the memory of our wickedness committed, and, turned away and unwilling, we are assailed by unlawful thought.
