V ers.1. — Vir erat in terra Hus, nomine Job. 15. S ensus allegor. — Christus Job nomine desi- gnatus. — Haec per historiam facta credimus, sed per allegoriam jam qualiter sint impleta, videamus. Job namque, ut diximus, interpretatur dolens: Hus vero consiliator. Quem ergo alium beatus Job suo nomine exprimit, nisi eum de quo propheta loquitur dicens: dolores nostros c ipse portavit ( Isai. liii, 4)? Qui Hus terram inhabitat, quia in corda populi con- siliatoris regnat. Paulus quippe ait Christum Dei virtutum, et Dei sapientiam. ( I Cor. i, 24). Atque haec ipsa Sapientia per Salomonem dicit: Ego sa- pientia habito in consilio, et eruditis intersum cogita- tionibus ( Proverb. viii, 12).

Verse 1. — There was a man in the land of Hus, whose name was Job. 15. The allegorical sense. — Christ designated by the name of Job. — These things we believe to have been done according to the history, but let us now see in what manner they were fulfilled by allegory. For Job, as we have said, is interpreted 'grieving': and Hus, 'counsellor.' Whom, then, does blessed Job express by his name, save Him of whom the prophet speaks, saying: 'He hath borne our sorrows' (Isa. liii, 4)? Who inhabits the land of Hus, because He reigns in the hearts of the counselling people. For Paul says that Christ is 'the power of God, and the wisdom of God' (1 Cor. i, 24). And this same Wisdom says by Solomon: 'I, wisdom, dwell in counsel, and am present in learned thoughts' (Prov. viii, 12).

Hus ergo terram inha- bitat Job, quia Sapientia, quae pro nobis passionis do- lorem sustinuit, corda vitae consiliis dedita sibimet habitationem fecit.
因此，約伯居住烏斯之地，因為智慧，就是那為我們的緣故忍受苦難之憂傷的，在那些致力於生命之謀略的心中，為自己造了居所。
Job, therefore, inhabits the land of Hus, because Wisdom, which for our sake endured the sorrow of the Passion, made for itself a habitation in the hearts given over to the counsels of life.
