V ers. 27. — Rogabis eum, et exaudiet te. 26. Frustra Deum rogant qui ejus praecepta con- temnunt. — Rogant quippe Dominum, sed exaudiri minime merentur, qui jubentis Domini praecepta contemnunt. Unde scriptum est: Qui declinat aurem suam ne audiat legem, oratio ejus erit exsecrabilis ( Prov. xxviii, 9). Quandiu ergo Eliphaz beatum Job non exaudiri credidit, hinc nimirum in suo opere errasse judicavit. Unde et adhuc subdit: I bid. — Et vota tua reddes. [ Vet. XI. ] Qui vola vovit, sed haec prae infirmitate solvere non valet, ei ex peccati poena agitur ut vo- lenti bonum posse subtrahatur.
第二十七節。——你要向祂祈求，祂必應允你。凡藐視神誡命的人，向神祈求乃是徒然。——那些藐視發命令之主誡命的人，他們的確向主祈求，卻絕不配蒙應允。因此經上記著說：轉耳不聽律法的，他的祈禱也為可憎（箴言二十八〔9〕）。因此，只要以利法相信蒙福的約伯未蒙應允，他從這一點就的確斷定約伯在他的工作上迷了路。因此他還補充說：同處。——你要償還你的願。凡許了願，卻因軟弱不能償還的人，就因罪的刑罰而被這樣對待：以致那立志行善的人，行善的能力反被奪去。
Verse 27. — Thou shalt pray to him, and he will hear thee. In vain do they pray to God who despise his precepts. — They do indeed pray to the Lord, but by no means deserve to be heard, who despise the precepts of the commanding Lord. Whence it is written: He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, his prayer shall be an abomination (Proverbs 28[:9]). So long, therefore, as Eliphaz believed that blessed Job was not heard, from this indeed he judged that he had gone astray in his work. Whence too he still adds: In the same place. — And thou shalt pay thy vows. He who has vowed a vow, but through weakness is not able to fulfill it, has it wrought upon him, out of the punishment of sin, that the power is withdrawn from him who wills the good.
