65. Despectis transitoriis, in æternum mansura desiderantur. — Arentia quippe suut omnia quae temporaliter condita venturo fine a jucunditate vitae præsentis quasi aestivo sole siccantur. Virentia autem suni vocata, qune nulla temporalitate marcescant. Huic ergo onagro virentia perquirere, est sancto unicuique viro, despectis rebus transitoriis, in aeternum mansura desiderare. Cuncta vero haec quae de onagro dicta sunt intelligi etiam et aliter possunt. Quae repetito superiori versu exponimus, ut lectoris judicIo quod eligendam crediderit relinquamus.
六十五、既輕看短暫之物，就渴慕那存到永遠之物。—因為凡屬短暫被造之物都是枯乾的，被將來的結局如同夏日之陽從今生之樂中曬乾。但那稱為青翠之物，乃是不因任何短暫而枯萎的。因此，對這野驢而言，尋找青翠之物，就是各聖潔之人既輕看短暫之物，便渴慕那存到永遠之物。但凡論到野驢所說的這一切，也可作別解。我們藉重述前面的經節加以闡釋，好把讀者所信當選取的，留給讀者的判斷。
65. Transitory things being despised, the things that shall abide unto eternity are desired.—For all things are dry which, temporally established, are dried up as by a summer sun from the pleasantness of the present life by the fate to come. But things called green are those which wither by no temporality. For this wild ass, then, to seek out green things is, for each holy man, transitory things being despised, to desire the things that shall abide unto eternity. But all these things that have been said of the wild ass can also be understood otherwise. These we expound by repeating the foregoing verse, so that we may leave to the reader's judgment what he shall have believed ought to be chosen.
