V ers. 4.— Quia sagittae Domini in me sunt. 4. Sagittis praedicatio vel poena signatur.—Sagitta- rum quippe nomine aliquando praedicationis verba, aliquando animadversionis sententiae designantur. Praedicationis namque eloquia sagittis exprimuntur, quia in eo quod vitia feriunt, 214 male viventium corda transfigunt. De his sagittis venienti Redem- ptori dicitur: Sagittae tuae acutae, potentissime; populi sub te cadent in corde ( Psal. xliv, 6). De quo Isaias dicit: Mittam ex eis qui salvati fuerint ad gentes in mare, in Africam, a et in Lydiam, tenentes sagittam, in Italiam, in Graeciam ( Isai. lxvi, 19).
第4節：——因為全能者的箭在我身上（伯六4）。四、箭所象徵的或是宣講、或是刑罰。——箭之名有時象徵宣講的言語，有時象徵管教的判語。因為宣講的言語以箭來表達，因為它們既刺中惡行，就穿透那些行惡之人的心。論到這些箭，對那將要來的救贖主說：「大能者啊，你的箭鋒利，眾民必仆倒在你以下，射中心窩」（詩四十四6）。以賽亞論到祂說：「我要從他們得救的人中，差往列國去，到海邊、到非利加、到路德持弓的、到義大利、到希臘」（賽六十六19）。
Ver. 4.—For the arrows of the Lord are in me (Job 6:4). 4. By arrows are signified either preaching or punishment.—By the name of arrows are sometimes designated the words of preaching, sometimes the sentences of chastisement. For the utterances of preaching are expressed by arrows, because in that they strike the vices, they pierce through the hearts of those who live evilly. Of these arrows it is said to the coming Redeemer: 'Thy arrows are sharp, O most mighty; the peoples shall fall under thee, in the heart' (Ps. 44:6). Of whom Isaiah says: 'I will send of them that shall be saved to the nations into the sea, into Africa, and into Lydia, holding the arrow, into Italy, into Greece' (Isa. 66:19).

Rursum sagittis, animadversionis percussio designatur, sicut Joas regi per Elisaeum dicitur: Jace sagittam. Quo jaciente ait: Percuties Syriam, donec consumas eam ( IV Reg. xiii, 17). Vir igitur sanctus quia peregrinationis suae aerum- nam respicit, quia sub percussionibus Dominicae ani- madversionis ingemiscit, dicat: Unde et verba mea dolore sunt plena, quia sagittae Domini in me sunt [ Rec. III. ] Acsi aperte diceret: Ego in exsilii damna- tione non gaudeo, sed sub judicio positus doleo, quia vim percussionis agnosco. Plerique autem sunt quos tormenta cruciant, sed non emendant. Quo contra apte subjungitur:

Again, by arrows is designated the stroke of chastisement, as is said to King Joash through Elisha: 'Shoot the arrow.' And as he shot he said: 'Thou shalt strike Syria, until thou consume it' (2 Kings 13:17). The holy man therefore, because he regards the misery of his pilgrimage, because he groans under the strokes of the Lord's chastisement, says: 'Wherefore also my words are full of sorrow, because the arrows of the Lord are in me.' [Recension III] As if he openly said: I do not rejoice in the condemnation of exile, but, being set under judgment, I grieve, because I acknowledge the force of the stroke. But there are very many whom torments torture, yet do not amend. Whereto it is fitly subjoined:
