V ers. 3. — Arguis verbis eum qui non est aqualis tibi, et loqueris quod tibi non expedit. 29. Dum vera quae exprobrent non inveniunt, falsa fingunt haeretici. — Nullum vero existimant timorem Domini habere, nisi eum quem potuerint ad suae confessionis e stultitiam trahere. Unde adjungit: — V ers. 4 — Quantum in te est, evacuasti timorem, et tulisti preces coram Deo. Tulisti dicitur abstulisti, ac si aperte dicat: De tua justitia praesumens, Creatoris tui gratiam despicis deprecari. Cum enim vera mala haeretici contra bonos non inveniunt, fingunt quae redarguant, ut justi esse videantur, et fit plerumque ut ad aperta contumeliarum verba perveniant. Unde adhuc subditur:
第三節：「你用言語責備與你不對等的人，說出對你無益的話。」29. 當異端找不到可指摘他人的真實過錯時，便捏造虛假的過錯。——他們認為除了那被他們拖入自己所信之愚妄的人以外，無人具有對主的敬畏。故他接著說：第四節：「你竭盡所能廢除了敬畏，奪去了在神面前的祈禱。」「奪去」即「除去」，彷彿明明白白地說：「你自恃己義，鄙棄向你的造物主懇求恩典。」因為當異端在善人身上找不到真實的惡時，便捏造事端來指責他們，好使自己顯為義；而事情往往發展到他們甚至說出公然侮辱的話。故又補充說：
Verse 3: 'You reprove with words one who is not your equal, and you speak what is not profitable for you.' 29. When heretics find no true faults to cast in another's teeth, they invent false ones. — They reckon that no one has the fear of the Lord except him whom they have been able to drag into the folly of their own profession. Whence he adds: Verse 4: 'As far as in you lies, you have made void fear, and you have taken away prayers before God.' 'You have taken away' means 'you have removed,' as if he plainly said: 'Presuming upon your own righteousness, you disdain to entreat the grace of your Creator.' For when heretics find no true evils in the good, they invent things to reproach them with, that they themselves may seem righteous; and it often comes to pass that they proceed even to open words of insult. Whence it is further added:
