Verse 13. — 'He will spare it, and not forsake it, and will conceal it in his throat.' — It belongs to the hypocrite never to confess the things he has committed. — For he spares the evil which he loves, because he does not pursue it against himself by repenting of it. Whence it is added: 'He will not forsake it.' For if he wished to forsake it, he would in no way spare it, because he would pursue it. But he conceals it in his throat, because he so keeps it in thought that he never brings it forth in the voice. There follows:
