I bid. — Et in viis tuis splendebit lumen. 28. Mirus virtutis splendor. — In viis quippe ju- storum lumen splendere est per mira opera virtutum signa suae claritatis aspergere, d ut quocunque per intentionem pergunt, ab intuentium cordibus peccati noctem excutiant, et exemplo sui operis in eis justi- tiae lumen fundant. Sed quantalibet sit justitia operis, apud internum judicem nulla est, si nanc elevat tu- mor mentis. Unde et subditur:
同處。——在你的道路上必有光照耀。德行奇妙的光輝。——光在義人的道路上照耀，就是藉著眾德行的奇妙工作，撒佈自己光輝的記號，好叫他們無論憑其意向往何處去，都能從觀看他們之人的心中抖落罪的黑夜，並藉著自己工作的榜樣，把公義的光傾注在他們裡面。但工作的公義無論何等大，在那內裡的審判者面前卻算不得甚麼，若是心思的膨脹將它高抬。因此補充說：
In the same place. — And in thy ways light shall shine. The wondrous splendor of virtue. — For light to shine in the ways of the just is, through the wondrous works of the virtues, to sprinkle the signs of one's own brightness, so that wherever they proceed by their intention, they may shake off the night of sin from the hearts of those who behold them, and by the example of their own work may pour into them the light of righteousness. But however great the righteousness of the work may be, before the inward Judge it is nothing, if the swelling of the mind lifts it up. Whence too it is subjoined:
