Verse 12: 'Why does your heart lift you up, and why, as though thinking great things, have you astonished eyes?' 35. They mock the contemplation of the saints, having never experienced it. — Often the mind of the righteous is so suspended toward the contemplation of higher things that outwardly their face seems to have grown dumb with amazement. But because the heretics do not know that this force of contemplation works in secret, they think that this is done by the righteous and the rightly wise more through hypocrisy than through truth, because they do not suspect that there is truly present in others what they themselves cannot have.
