V ers. 16.— Et erit egeno spes. 36. Suorum spem solidavit. Erepto quippe pau- pere, egenus ad spem reducitur, quia humilis fidelium populus, Redemptore moriente, pavore concutitur, sed resurgente solidatur. Ipsos namque primos hujus populi pauperes, electos videlicet praedicatores, visa ejus mors perculit, sed resurrectio ostensa reparavit. Salvato ergo paupere, spem egenus recipit, quia resurgente in carne Domino, fidelis quisque ad aeter- nae vitae fiduciam convalescit. Sed ecce jam in mani- festa ostensione Veritas venit, jam carnis mortem pertulit, eamque resurgendo destruxit, a jam resur- rectionem gloria ascensionis honoravit;
第16節。——貧乏人必有盼望。第36段。祂堅固了屬祂之人的盼望。因為當貧窮者得救時，貧乏人就被領回盼望，因為信徒中卑微的百姓，在救主死時被恐懼所震撼，卻在祂復活時被堅固。因為這百姓中最初的貧窮者，就是那些蒙揀選的傳道者，被祂死亡的景象擊倒，卻被祂顯明的復活所復興。所以當貧窮者得救時，貧乏人便得著盼望，因為在主於肉身中復活時，每一個信徒都堅強起來，得著永生的信賴。但看哪，如今真理已在顯明的彰顯中來到，如今祂已忍受了肉身的死亡，並藉復活摧毀了它，如今祂已用升天的榮耀尊榮了自己的復活；
Verse 16. — And there shall be hope for the needy. 36. He made firm the hope of his own. For when the poor one is rescued, the needy is brought back to hope, because the lowly people of the faithful, at the death of the Redeemer, was shaken with fear, but at his rising was made firm. For the very first poor of this people, namely the elect preachers, were struck down by the sight of his death, but restored by his manifested resurrection. When therefore the poor one is saved, the needy receives hope, because at the rising of the Lord in the flesh, each of the faithful grows strong unto confidence of eternal life. But behold, now in manifest showing the Truth has come, now he has borne the death of the flesh, and by rising has destroyed it, now he has honoured his resurrection with the glory of his ascension;

et tamen Hebraeorum lingua adhuc cum contumeliis lacessere non desinit, quos nimirum aequanimiter tolerat, ut alios tolerando convertat, atque alios minime con- versos quandoque districtius feriat. Tunc enim lingua infidelium ab effrenatione suae loquacitatis obmute- scet, cum venire eum justum judicem viderit, quem nunc injuste judicavit. Unde et bene subditur:
然而希伯來人的舌頭至今仍不停止以侮辱來攻擊祂；但祂確以平靜的心加以容忍，為要藉容忍一些人而使另一些人歸正，並且有朝一日更嚴厲地擊打那些絲毫不歸正的人。因為那時，當不信者看見祂以公義的審判者來到——就是他們如今不義地審判的那位——他們放縱的饒舌之舌就要啞口無言。因此經上又恰當地接著說：
and yet the tongue of the Hebrews ceases not still to assail him with insults; whom indeed he tolerates with equanimity, that by tolerating some he may convert others, and may one day more severely strike others who are in no wise converted. For then shall the tongue of the unbelieving be struck dumb from the unbridling of its loquacity, when it shall see him come as a just judge, whom it now unjustly judged. Whence too it is well subjoined:
