I bid. — Vigilantes ad praedam, praeparant panem liberis. 61. Haeretici ad praedam vigilant. — Ad praedam vigilant qui verba justorum ad sensum proprium semper rapere conantur, ut per haec perversis filiis panem erroris c parent. De quo videlicet pane apud Salomonem verbis mulieris pravitatis haereti(??)ae ty- pum gerentis dicitur: 524 Aquae furtivae dulciores sunt, et panis absconditus suavior ( Prov. ix, 17). Se- quitur:

Heretics watch for prey. — They watch for prey who always endeavor to snatch the words of the just into their own private meaning, that by these they may prepare bread of error for their perverse children. Concerning which bread it is said in Solomon, in the words of the woman who bears the type of heretical wickedness: Stolen waters are sweeter, and hidden bread is more pleasant (Proverbs 9:17).
