V ers. 20. — De mane usque ad vesperam succi- dentur. 70. Reprobi nec in extremo tempore mentem per- versam mutant. — A mane usque ad vesperam pec- cator succiditur, dum a vitae suae exordio usque ad terminum, iniquitatis perpetratione vulneratur. Omni namque tempore reprobi per augmentum malitiae contra se ictus ingeminant, quibus succisi in profun- dum ruant. De quibus behe per Psalmistam dicitur: Viri sanguinum et dolosi non dimidlabunt dies suos ( Psal. liv, 25). Dies quippe dimidiare, est tempus vitae male in voluptatibus ductum ad poenitentiae la- menta dividere, atque hoc ad bonum usum partiendo reparare.
第二十節：「從早晨到晚上，他們必被砍倒。」七十節：遭棄絕的人連在末後之時也不改變其乖謬之心。——罪人從早晨到晚上被砍倒，就是從他生命之始直到其終，被罪孽的犯行所傷。因為遭棄絕的人在一切時候都藉惡的增長，加倍地擊打自己，被砍倒而墮入深淵。論到他們，藉詩人說得好：「好流人血、行詭詐的人，必活不到半世」（詩篇五十五23）。因為使日子減半，就是把在逸樂中虛度的生命之時，分出來歸於痛悔的哀哭，並藉著把這一分歸於善用，將其修復。
Verse 20. — 'From morning until evening they shall be cut down.' 70. The reprobate do not change their perverse mind even at the last hour. — From morning until evening the sinner is cut down, while from the beginning of his life even to its end he is wounded by the committing of iniquity. For at all times the reprobate, through the increase of malice, redouble against themselves the blows by which, cut down, they may fall into the depths. Of whom it is well said through the Psalmist: 'Men of blood and deceit shall not live out half their days' (Ps. liv, 25). For to halve one's days is to divide the time of life ill spent in pleasures unto the laments of penitence, and by apportioning this to a good use, to repair it.

Sed iniqui dies suos nequaquam dimidiant, quia perversam mentem nec in extremo tempore im- mutant. Quo contra bene Paulus admonet dicens: Redimentes tempus, quoniam dies mali sunt ( Ephes. v, 16). Tempus quippe redimimus, quando ante- actam vitam, quam lasciviendo perdidimus, flendo reparamus. Sequitur:
但惡人絕不使自己的日子減半，因為他們連在末後之時也不改變其乖謬之心。針對這事，保羅勸勉得好，說：「要愛惜光陰，因為現今的世代邪惡」（以弗所書五16）。因為我們愛惜光陰，就是當我們用哀哭修復從前因放蕩而失去的生命的時候。接著說：
But the wicked by no means halve their days, because they change not their perverse mind even at the last hour. Against which Paul well admonishes, saying: 'Redeeming the time, because the days are evil' (Eph. v, 16). For we redeem the time when we repair by weeping the life that went before, which we lost by wantonness. There follows:
