V ers.5. — Cumque in orbem transissent dies con- vivii, mittebat Job, et sanctificabat eos: consurgens- que diluculo offerebat holocausta per singulos. 30. Christus praedicatorum suorum corda mundat.— In orbem dies convivii transeunt, cum praedicatio- num ministeria peraguntur. Peractisque conviviis, holocaustum Job pro filiis obtulit; quia pro apostolis de praedicatione redeuntibus, Patrem Redemptor exoravit. Bene autem mittendo sanctificare dicitur; quia dum sanctum Spiritum, a qui a se procedit, discipulorum cordibus tribuit, quidquid culpae inesse potuit, emundavit. Recteque ad offerenda holocausta diluculo consurgere perbibetur;
第五節。——「筵席的日子輪流過完了，約伯就打發人去叫他們自潔，清早起來，為他們各人獻上燔祭。」三十。基督潔淨其傳道者的心。——筵席的日子輪流過去，正如傳道的職事被完成。筵席既完成，約伯為他兒子們獻上燔祭；因為救贖主為那從傳道歸來的使徒向父懇求。這裡好好地說祂藉差遣而使人成聖；因為當祂將那從祂自己而出的聖靈賜給門徒的心時，祂洗淨了他們裡面一切可能存在的過犯。並且祂適切地被記為清早起來獻燔祭；
Ver. 5. — 'And when the days of the feasting had gone round in turn, Job sent and sanctified them; and rising up early in the morning he offered holocausts for every one.' 30. Christ cleanses the hearts of His preachers. — The days of the feasting pass in turn, when the ministries of preaching are accomplished. And the feasts being accomplished, Job offered a holocaust for his sons; because on behalf of the apostles returning from preaching, the Redeemer besought the Father. Now He is well said to sanctify by sending; because, while He grants the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from Himself, to the hearts of His disciples, He cleansed away whatever of fault could be in them. And He is rightly recorded to rise early to offer holocausts;

quia per hoc quod pro nobis intercessionis suae petitionem obtulit, dis- cussa erroris nocte, humanae mentis tenebras illu- stravit; ne quo peccati contagio, ex ipsa praedicatio- nis gratia, mens in occulto polluatur; ne sibi quae agit tribuat; ne sibi tribuendo quae agebat, amittat. Unde recte subjungitur:
因為藉著祂為我們獻上代求的祈求，謬誤的黑夜被驅散，祂光照了人心的黑暗；免得從傳道之恩本身生出的任何罪的沾染，使人心在暗中被玷污；免得它把所行的歸於自己；免得它因把所行的歸於自己，就失去它所行的。因此適切地補充說：
because, in that He offered the petition of His intercession on our behalf, the night of error being dispelled, He illumined the darkness of the human mind; lest by any contagion of sin, arising from the very grace of preaching, the mind be polluted in secret; lest it ascribe to itself what it does; lest, by ascribing to itself what it did, it lose what it was doing. Whence it is rightly subjoined:
