V ers. 17.— In turbine enim conteret me. 31. Peccator quisque in turbine atteritur, qui erec- tus in tranquillitate videbatur, quia quem diu superna longanimitas tolerat, extrema judicii severitas necat; quae recte turbo dicitur, e quia in elementorum com- motione revelatur, Psalmista attestante, qui ait: Deus f manifestus veniet, Deus noster, et non silebit. Ignis in conspectu ejus ardebit, et in circuitu ejus tem- pestas valida ( Psal. xlix, 3.) Unde et propheta quoque alius dicit: Dominus in tempestate et turbine via ejus. ( Nah. i, 3). In quo nimirum turbine 303 idcirco justus nequaquam conteritur, quia semper hic sollicite me- tuit ne conteratur.
第十七節。祂必以旋風壓碎我。第三十一節。凡在安逸中似乎正直的罪人，都要在旋風中被壓碎，因為那被至上的寬容長久容忍的人，末後審判的嚴厲要將他殺滅；這審判被恰當地稱為旋風，因為它在諸元素的震動中顯明出來，正如詩人所見證的，他說：我們的神要來，決不閉口。有烈火在祂面前吞滅，有暴風在祂四圍大颳（詩篇五十篇3節）。故此另一位先知也說：耶和華乘旋風和暴風而來（那鴻書一章3節）。在這旋風中，義人斷然絕不被壓碎，因為他在此常常戰兢懼怕，惟恐被壓碎。
Verse 17. For he will crush me in a whirlwind. 31. Every sinner is worn down in the whirlwind who seemed upright in tranquility, because him whom the supernal long-suffering long tolerates, the extreme severity of judgment slays; which is rightly called a whirlwind, because it is revealed in the commotion of the elements, the Psalmist bearing witness, who says: God shall come manifest, our God, and shall not keep silence. Fire shall burn in his sight, and round about him a mighty tempest (Psalm 50:3). Whence also another prophet says: The Lord's way is in the tempest and the whirlwind (Nahum 1:3). In which whirlwind the just man is doubtless by no means crushed, because he here always anxiously fears lest he be crushed.

Perpendit namque, adhuc in prae- sentis vitae itinere constitutus, humanis actibus exactor operum quam districtus appareat, qui quos- dam tunc reatu culpae originalis astrictos etiam sine operibus damnat. Unde recte vir sanctus ex humani generis voce protinus adjungit:
因為他仍在今生的旅途中時，便仔細衡量：那位審判者向人的行為，顯為何等嚴厲的追討工作者——祂甚至將某些被原罪之愆所束縛的人，即使沒有本身的行為，也定了罪。故此那聖人恰當地代表全人類發聲，隨即加上說：
