VERS. 13. — Quem constituit alium super terram, aut quem posuit super orbem, quem fabricatus est? 46. Quem per se condidit mundum, per se quoque regit.-Ut videlicet subaudias nullum. Per Re quippe mundum regit, quem per se condidit; nec eget alienis adjutoriis ad regendum, qui non eguit ad faciendum. Sed haec idcirco colliguntur, ut liquido indicet quia omnipotens Deus, si per semetipsum regere non negligit quod creavit, quod bene creavit utique bene regit, quia quod pie condidit impie non disponit; et qui necdum facta curavit ut essent, quae sunt facta non deserit. Quia ergo praesens est in regimine qui auctor exstitit in creatione, ideo curam nostri non praeterit. Unde et apte subjungit:
第十三節——他曾派誰另外治理大地？他曾立誰管理他所造的世界？46. 他既獨自創立世界，也獨自統治世界。——就是說，你要領會：沒有一個人。因為他獨自統治他所獨自創立的世界；他既造世界時不需要別人的幫助，統治世界時也不需要別人的協助。但這些話所以匯集起來，是為要明白指出：全能的神既不忽於親自統治他所創造的，他所造得美好的，他必也統治得美好，因為他所敬虔創立的，他必不邪僻地處置；他既顧念使那尚未存在之物成為存在，就不撇棄那已被造成之物。既然那位在創造中作者的，如今也臨在於統治之中，所以他不忽略對我們的看顧。因此他又恰當地補充道：
Verse 13. — Whom has he appointed another over the earth, or whom has he set over the world which he has made? 46. He who by himself founded the world, by himself also governs it. — That is, understand: no one. For by himself he governs the world, which by himself he founded; nor does he need the aids of others to govern, who needed none to make it. But these things are gathered for this reason, that he may clearly indicate that the Almighty God, if he does not neglect to govern by himself what he created, surely governs well what he created well, because what he piously founded he does not impiously dispose; and he who took care that things not yet made should exist, does not forsake the things that have been made. Because, therefore, he is present in governing who was the author in creation, therefore he does not overlook care for us. Whence he also aptly adds:
