31. In ultima persecutione ira reproborum ebulliet in Sanctos. — Quid per mare nisi vita saecularium, quid per profundum, nisi altæ et abditae eorum cogitationes exprimuntur? Quod profundum mare Leviathan iste quasi ollam facit fervescere, quia nimirum constat, quod persecutionis extremae tempore contra electurum vitam studeat animos reproborum 1131 her flamam crudelitatis excitare. Tunc profundum mare quasi olla fervescit,. cum corda dilectorum saeculi valido ardore succendit, et quae hoc pacis tempore intra suam malitiam clausa latuerunt, tunc in aestum immanissimæ persecutionis ebulliunt, ac per abruptam crudelitatis apertæ iicentiam ea quas diu presserant odia antiqui iivoris exhalant.
在末後的逼迫中，被棄絕者的忿怒必向聖徒沸騰而出。海若不是指世俗之人的生命，深淵若不是指他們高深隱密的思念，還能指甚麼呢？這深海被那利維坦弄得像鍋一樣沸騰，因為顯然在末後逼迫之時，他極力煽動被棄絕者的心，向選民的生命點燃殘忍的火焰。那時深海就像鍋一樣沸騰，就是當他以強烈的火燒著那些愛世界之人的心，那些在此和平之時潛藏、封閉在他們惡毒之中的事，那時便在極其兇殘的逼迫的沸騰中翻湧而出，並藉著公開殘忍的肆無忌憚的放縱，吐出他們長久壓抑的、古舊怨毒的仇恨。
In the last persecution the wrath of the reprobate will boil over against the saints. What is signified by the sea but the life of worldly men, and what by the deep but their high and hidden thoughts? This deep sea that Leviathan makes to boil like a pot, since it is evident that at the time of the final persecution he strives to kindle the souls of the reprobate to the flame of cruelty against the life of the elect. Then the deep sea boils like a pot, when he sets the hearts of those who love the world ablaze with mighty burning, and the things that in this time of peace lay hidden shut up within their malice, then boil over into the seething of a most savage persecution, and through the headlong licence of open cruelty they breathe out the hatreds of ancient rancour which they had long suppressed.

Quia autem pestifero errore ptrsuasi, i sic in istis rarnulantur Antichristo, ut tunc verius præbere se aestiment obsequium Christo, postquam dixit: Fervescere faciet quasi ollam profun dum nzare, apte subjuuxit:
但因為他們受了致命謬誤的誘惑，就這樣在這些人身上服事敵基督，以致他們反倒更確信自己是在向基督獻上順服。所以在說了「祂必使深海像鍋一樣沸騰」之後，經上就恰當地接著說：
But because, persuaded by a pestilent error, they thus serve Antichrist in these men in such a way that they then more truly reckon themselves to be rendering obedience to Christ, after He had said, 'He will make the deep sea to boil like a pot,' He fitly added:
