V ers. 5. — Docuit enim iniquitas tua os tuum, et imitaris linguam blasphemantium. 30. Dei honori specie caventes, bonitati detrahunt. — Iniquitas os docet quando ex mala vita conci- pitur quod pejus dicatur. Quia autem beatus Job a tanto in ore liber fuerat quanto justus in opere, ab amicis suis haereticorum typum tenentibus, et de iniqua vita, et de audaci ore reprehenditur, ut dicatur: Docuit enim iniquitas tua os tuum. Ac si aperte ei diceretur: Quod perverse loqueris, b ex perversiore didicisti vita. Saepe vero haeretici dum quasi venerantur Deum, ejus mysteriis contradi- cunt, et humilitatem putant si veritatem denegant.
第五節：「因為你的罪孽教了你的口，你效法褻瀆者的舌頭。」30. 他們以維護神的尊榮為表象，卻貶損祂的美善。——當從邪惡的生活中孕育出更惡的言語時，罪孽便教導了口。但因為蒙福的約伯在言語上何等自由，正如他在行為上何等公義，他卻被那些具有異端典型的朋友們，既為邪惡的生活、也為放肆的口舌所責備，以致有人說：「因為你的罪孽教了你的口。」彷彿公然對他說：「你悖謬所言的，乃是從更悖謬的生活中學來的。」異端往往一面彷彿敬拜神，一面卻牴觸祂的奧祕，並以為否認真理便是謙卑。
Verse 5: 'For your iniquity has taught your mouth, and you imitate the tongue of blasphemers.' 30. Under the appearance of guarding God's honour, they detract from His goodness. — Iniquity teaches the mouth when out of an evil life is conceived what may be spoken the worse. But because blessed Job was as free in his mouth as he was righteous in his work, he is reproved by his friends — who bear the type of the heretics — both for a wicked life and for a bold mouth, so that it is said: 'For your iniquity has taught your mouth.' As if it were openly said to him: 'What you speak perversely, you learned from a still more perverse life.' Often indeed the heretics, while they seem to venerate God, contradict His mysteries, and account it humility if they deny the truth.

Sunt namque nonnulli qui Deo c se injuriam irro- gare existimant si eum veram carnem assumpsisse fateantur, aut si hunc veraciter pro nobis carne mori potuisse crediderint. Cumque Deo quasi plus d ho- noris conantur tribuere, coguntur laudes veras bo- nitatis illius negare. Quid enim est in charitatis suae laude potentius quam ut illa sibi pro nobis digna ad susceptionem e faceret, quae ei videntur indigna? Sancta autem Ecclesia veram carnem, veram mor- tem illius confitetur; sed haec dicens, ab haereticis irrogare Deo contumeliam creditur. Unde nunc di- citur: Et imitaris linguam blasphemantium.
因為有些人認為，若他們承認神取了真實的肉體，或若他們相信祂能為我們在肉體中真實地死去，便是對神的侮辱。他們一面彷彿要歸給神更多的尊榮，一面卻被迫否認祂美善的真實稱頌。因為在祂慈愛的稱頌中，還有什麼比這更有力：祂使那些看似對祂不配的事，為我們的緣故成為配得祂親自承擔的呢？然而聖教會承認祂真實的肉體、真實的死亡；但她這樣說時，卻被異端認為是在侮辱神。故現今說：「你效法褻瀆者的舌頭。」
For there are some who reckon that they do God an injury if they confess that He took true flesh, or if they believe that He could truly die in the flesh for us. And while they strive as it were to give God more honour, they are compelled to deny the true praises of His goodness. For what is more mighty in the praise of His charity than that He should make those things, which seem unworthy of Him, worthy of His taking upon Himself for our sake? But holy Church confesses His true flesh, His true death; yet in saying this she is believed by the heretics to offer insult to God. Whence now it is said: 'And you imitate the tongue of blasphemers.'
