20. Hœretici sacrœ Scripturœ vim inferentes a Deo feriendi. -- Non absurde iinpii vocantur hæretici, qui per errorein pravi dogmatis a cognitione sunt veritatis alieni, quos sequenti verbo etiam violentos appellat, quippe qui Scripturae sacræ sententias recta dogmata continentes ad intellectum pravum conantur violenter inflectere. Violenti ergo sum, et si non rebus bominum, d certe sensibus praeceptorum. Filii autem violentorum sunt sequaces hæreticorum, qui dum eorum errori couseutiunt, quasi ex eorum prædicatione generantur. Sed multiplicati in gladio erunt, quia quamvis modo immensa multitudine in perdita libertate succrescant, venturi tamen judicis senleniia feriuntur.
二十、異端者向聖經施暴，必被神擊打。——異端者被稱為惡人並非無理，他們因邪僻教義的錯謬而與真理的知識隔絕；他在下文中又稱他們為強暴人，因為他們的確企圖強暴地把聖經中含有正道之義的話語，扭曲成邪僻的理解。因此他們是強暴人，縱使不是對人的財物，至少是對誡命的意義施暴。而強暴人的兒女，就是異端者的追隨者，他們既附和其錯謬，便彷彿是從其宣講所生。然而「他們必被刀劍剪除」，因為他們如今雖在喪失的自由中以無數之眾滋長，卻終必被那將要來的審判者的判決所擊打。
20. Heretics, doing violence to the sacred Scripture, are to be smitten by God. — Not without reason are heretics called wicked, who through the error of a depraved dogma are estranged from the knowledge of the truth; whom in the following word he also calls violent, since indeed they attempt violently to bend to a depraved understanding the sentences of sacred Scripture which contain right doctrines. They are therefore violent, even if not against the property of men, yet certainly against the sense of the precepts. But the children of the violent are the followers of the heretics, who, while they consent to their error, are as it were begotten from their preaching. But 「they shall be multiplied by the sword,」 because although they now grow up in immense multitude in lost liberty, yet they shall be smitten by the sentence of the Judge who is to come.

Unde per Moysen Dominus dicit: Gladius meusmanducabitcarnes (Deut. XXXII, 42). Dei enim gladiuscarnes acomedit, quia in extremo judicio ejus sententia eos qui carnaliter sapiunt occidit. Qua in re quærendumest cur dicatur quod hanc pariem atque hæreditatemsuam pravi ab Omnipotente percipiunt. Sed recte considerantibusliquet quia etsi a seipsis habuerunt injuste agere, supernæ tamen æquitati suppetit injuste acta juste jutlicare, ut divina sententia ordinet in pœnamquos inordinata sua actio traxit ad culpam. Be quibus apte subjungitur: Et nepoles ejus non saturabuntur pane. 21. A veritatis cognitione jejunant Scripturam legentes ad quœstionem, non ad refectionem.
故此主藉摩西說：「我的刀劍必吞吃肉」（申命記三十二章42節）。因為神的刀劍吞吃肉，乃因在末後的審判中，祂的判決要殺戮那些屬肉體思念的人。在此當問：何以說惡人是從全能者領受這分與產業？但對於正確思量的人，甚是明白：他們雖是憑自己行不義，然而按公正審判不義所行之事，卻是屬乎至高的公義，好使神的判決把那被自己悖亂行為引向罪愆的人，定於刑罰。論到這等人，恰當地補充說：「他的後裔必不得飽食。」二十一、那些為爭辯而非為滋養來讀聖經的人，乃是禁絕於真理的知識。
Whence through Moses the Lord says: 「My sword shall devour flesh」 (Deuteronomy 32:42). For God's sword devours flesh, because in the last judgement His sentence slays those who savour carnally. On this point it must be asked why it is said that the wicked receive this their portion and inheritance from the Almighty. But to those who consider rightly it is clear that, although they had it of themselves to act unjustly, yet it belongs to the supernal equity to judge justly things unjustly done, so that the divine sentence may order unto punishment those whom their own disordered action has drawn to guilt. Concerning whom it is fitly subjoined: 「And his descendants shall not be filled with bread.」 21. Those who read Scripture for controversy, not for refreshment, fast from the knowledge of truth.

— Nepotes quippe hæreticorum sunt qui de errantium filiorum prædicatione nascuntur. Quos nequaquam panis satiat; quia dum in sacri verbi pabulo plus quærunt sentire b quam capiunt, sempera veritatis cn gntione jejunant; et praedicamenta doctrinae quae student ad quæstionem quærere, 586 habere non valent ad refcction m. Quia vero nonnullos ex iisdem hæreticis sancta Ecclesia colligit, nonnullos inmalitia sua pertinaces relinquit, protinus additur:
——因為異端者的後裔，就是那些從迷惑之子的宣講而生的人。他們絕不因餅得飽足；因為當他們在聖言的糧食中，尋求領悟超過他們所能領受的，便永遠禁絕於真理的知識；而他們竭力為爭辯所尋求的教義道理，卻無法為滋養而擁有。但因聖教會收聚這些異端者中的一些人，卻撇下另一些頑梗執迷於惡的人，便隨即補充說：
— For the descendants of the heretics are those who are born from the preaching of the erring sons. Whom bread by no means satisfies; because while in the nourishment of the sacred word they seek to perceive more than they can grasp, they ever fast from the knowledge of truth; and the doctrinal teachings which they strive to seek for controversy, they cannot possess for refreshment. But because holy Church gathers some of these same heretics, and leaves others obstinate in their malice, it is at once added:
