V ers. 12. — Quid te elevat co(??)tuum, et, quasi magna cogitans, attonitos habes oculos? 35. Sanctorum contemplationem irrident nunquam experti. — Saepe justorum mens ita ad altiora con- templanda suspenditur, ut exterius eorum facies obstupuisse videatur. Sed quia hanc contemplationis vim in occulto agere haeretici ignorant, hoc a justis et recta sapientibus fieri magis per hypocrisim quam per veritatem putant, quia hoc quod ipsi habere nequeunt inesse verac(??)r aliis non suspicantur. Se- quitur:
Verse 12: 'Why does your heart lift you up, and why, as though thinking great things, have you astonished eyes?' 35. They mock the contemplation of the saints, having never experienced it. — Often the mind of the righteous is so suspended toward the contemplation of higher things that outwardly their face seems to have grown dumb with amazement. But because the heretics do not know that this force of contemplation works in secret, they think that this is done by the righteous and the rightly wise more through hypocrisy than through truth, because they do not suspect that there is truly present in others what they themselves cannot have. There follows:
第十二節：「你的心為何高抬你？你為何彷彿思想大事，眼目發直呆望？」35. 他們譏笑聖徒的默觀，因自己從未經歷過。——義人的心思往往如此被提升去默觀更高之事，以致他們的面容外表看似驚訝得發呆。但因為異端不知道這默觀之力是在隱密中運行的，便認為義人與有正智慧者這樣行，與其說是出於真實，不如說是出於偽善，因為他們不揣度別人身上真有他們自己所不能有的。接著說：
