1182:1
lam. -Et ventus transiens fugabit eas. 70. Irrigato prædicatione Evangelii mundo, nubes illae a nostris oculis fugatæ. — Ventus quippe lrallsiens est vita praesens. Ventus ergo transiens nubes fugat, quia mortalis vita percurrens prædicatores sanctos a nostris oculis corporaliter oecuttat. Veutus transiens uubes fugat, quia vitae temporalis excursus a carne apostolos subtrahit, et eos a terræ superficie in secreta requie quasi in cœlorum cardine abscondit.
(IBID.) 'And a passing wind will put them to flight.' (70) The world having been watered by the preaching of the Gospel, those clouds were put to flight from our eyes. — For the passing wind is the present life. Therefore the passing wind puts the clouds to flight, because the mortal life, running its course, bodily hides the holy preachers from our eyes. The passing wind puts the clouds to flight, because the course of temporal life withdraws the apostles from the flesh, and hides them from the surface of the earth into secret rest, as though into the hinge of the heavens. But because they do not cease to preach even unto death, and, after the manner of clouds, run through the span of the present life with the rain of words, he adds what is accomplished by their labors in the holy Church, when he at once subjoins:
