6. In fortitudine quippe suae pravitatis fortes quosque detrahit, cum per sui erroris atlutiam mundi hujus potentes rapit. Quos contra per Paulum dicitur: infirma mundi elegit Deus, a ut confunderet (oreia (1 Cor. i, 27). Fortitudo autem perversi praedicatoris est elata scientia locutionis, qua inflatus, cæteros despicit, atque in contemptu omnium quasi singulariter apud se peritus intumescit. Qui magna de se sentiens, sed vera de Domino ignorans, longe a fidei cogpitione disjungitur, et tamen videri fidei praedicator conatur. Unde adhuc subditur:
6. For in the strength of his depravity he draws down even the strong, when through the cunning of his error he snatches away the powerful of this world. Against whom it is said through Paul: 'God hath chosen the weak things of the world, that He may confound the strong' (1 Cor. I, 27). Now the strength of the perverse preacher is the puffed-up knowledge of speech, wherewith, inflated, he despises the rest, and in contempt of all swells up as though singularly learned in his own eyes. He, thinking great things of himself, but being ignorant of the truth concerning the Lord, is far removed from the knowledge of the faith, and yet strives to appear a preacher of the faith. Whence it is still further added:
六、因為他憑其邪惡的力量拉下甚至那些強者，當他藉著自己謬誤的狡詐擄掠這世界的權貴時。保羅論到他們說：「神揀選了世上軟弱的，叫那強壯的羞愧」（林前一27）。然而邪僻傳道者的力量乃是言辭上自誇的知識，他因此自高自大，輕看眾人，在藐視一切之中膨脹，彷彿在自己眼中格外有學問。他自視甚高，卻不認識關於主的真理，離信德的認識甚遠，卻仍力圖顯為信仰的傳道者。所以還加上說：
