V ers. 2.— Secundum scientiam vestram et ego novi, nec inferior vestri sum. 32. Hoc accepto dono non intumuit. — Quibus vi- delicet dictis innotuit quantae humilitatis fuit qui se eis inferiorem b negat, quorum longe vitam sancte vivendo transcenderat. Nara et secundum eorum scientiam se nosse confirmat, qui, sciendo coelestia, eorum terrenas cogitationes per prophetiae quoque spiritum transibat. Sequitur:
Verse 2: 'According to your knowledge I also know, nor am I inferior to you.' 32. Having received this gift, he was not puffed up. — By which words indeed it became known of how great humility he was, who denies himself inferior to those whose life he had far transcended by living in holiness. For he affirms that he knows even according to their knowledge, he who, by knowing heavenly things, passed beyond their earthly thoughts also through the spirit of prophecy. There follows:
第二節:「照你們的知識,我也知道;我並不比你們差。」三十二、他領受了這恩賜,卻不自高。——由這些話便可知他是何等謙卑,他否認自己不如那些人,其實他藉聖潔的生活遠遠超越了他們的生命。因為他聲明自己甚至照他們的知識而知道,他既認識屬天之事,就藉預言之靈越過了他們屬地的思念。接著說:
