V ers. 3.— Nunquid habebunt finem verba ventosa? 3. Verba sana, propter elationem eorum a quibus proferuntur aliquando ventosa. Lugens non increpan- dus. — Ventosa enim verba sunt quae inflationi tem- porali potius quam rectitudini serviunt. Saepe autem mali etiam bona dicunt; sed quia bene non dicunt, ventosa verba proferunt. Nam dicta eorum et si quando a sana sunt per sententiam, inflata tamen sunt per elationem. [ Vet. II.] In hoc vero quod di- ctum est: Consolatores onerosi omnes vos estis, quid aliud beati Job magisterio docemur, nisi ut quisque perpendere sollicite sciat ne luctus tempore verba increpationis inferat?
Verse 3. — Shall windy words have any end? 3. Sound words are sometimes windy on account of the pride of those who utter them. The mourner is not to be rebuked. — For windy words are those which serve temporal inflation rather than rectitude. Often the wicked speak even good things; but because they do not speak them well, they utter windy words. For their sayings, even if at times they are sound in their meaning, are nevertheless inflated by pride. But in this, that it was said: You are all burdensome comforters — what else are we taught by the instruction of blessed Job, than that each one should know how carefully to weigh lest in the time of grief he bring in words of rebuke?
第三節。——虛空的話有窮盡嗎？三、健全的話有時因言者的自高而成為虛空。哀哭之人不當受責備。——虛空的話乃是那些服事屬世膨脹而非正道的話。惡人往往也說好話；但因為他們說得不好，便發出虛空的話。因為他們的言語縱然有時在意義上是健全的，卻仍因自高而膨脹。而在那所說的「你們都是叫人愁煩的安慰者」一句中，蒙福約伯的教訓還教導我們什麼呢？無非是各人當謹慎斟酌，免得在憂傷之時發出責備之言。

Si enim sunt quaedam quae in- crepari jure debeant, in afflictione postponenda sunt, ne consolator increpando dolorem augeat, quem le- nire proposuerat. Sequitur:
For if there are certain things which ought by right to be rebuked, in a time of affliction they are to be postponed, lest the comforter, by rebuking, increase the sorrow which he had proposed to alleviate. There follows:
