V ers. 17. — Qui dicebant Deo: Recede a nobis. 16. Haec etiam beatum Job dixisse quis ambigat? Sed quae in ejus dictis exposuimus, propter legentis fastidium replicare devitamus. Sequitur: I bid. — Et quasi nihil possit facere Omnipotens, aestimabant eum. In his quoque sermo, et non sententia immutatur. Nam quod per beatum Job dictum est: Quis esi Om- ni otens, u(??) serviamus ei (Job. xxi, 15)? hoc per Eli- phaz dicitur: Et quasi nihil possit facere Omnipotens, aestimabant eum. Sequitur:
Verse 17. — Who said to God: Depart from us. Who can doubt that blessed Job also said this? But what we have already expounded in his words, we forbear to repeat, lest it weary the reader. There follows: In the same place. — And they esteemed him as though the Almighty could do nothing. In these words too the phrasing is changed, but not the sense. For what was spoken by blessed Job: Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him (Job 21:15)? this is said by Eliphaz: And they esteemed him as though the Almighty could do nothing. There follows:
