V ers. 9. — Vim fecerunt depraedantes pupillos, a et (??)gus pauperum spoliaverunt. 65. Haeretici infirmos et indoctos, qua vi qua blan - dimentre aucupantur. — Cum prosperitatem vitae prae- sentis haeretici non habent, infirmis mentibus verbis blandioribus perversa persuadent. Si qua vero illis prosperitas temporis praesentis arriserit, etiam vio- lenter trahere quos praevalent non desistunt. Pupil- lorum itaque nomine designantur hi qui adhuc sunt teneri intra sanctam Ecclesiam constituti, quorum vitam misericors pater moriendo servavit, qui ad bonam jam intentionem deducti sunt, sed adhuc in bonis actibus nulla virtute roborantur.
Verse 9. — They did violence, plundering the orphans, and they despoiled the poor. 65. Heretics ensnare the weak and unlearned, now by force, now by allurement. — When heretics do not have the prosperity of the present life, they persuade perverse things to weak minds with more flattering words. But if any prosperity of the present time has smiled upon them, they do not cease even by violence to drag off those whom they can prevail against. By the name of orphans, then, are designated those who are still tender, established within holy Church, whose life a merciful father preserved in dying, who have already been led to good intention, but are not yet strengthened by any virtue in good actions.
第九節——他們行強暴，搶奪孤兒，又劫掠窮人。六十五、異端者或以強力，或以諂媚，獵取軟弱無知的人。——當異端者未有今生的興盛時，便以較諂媚的言語向軟弱的心靈勸誘邪僻之事。但若今世的興盛向他們微笑，他們便不住地甚至以強暴拉走他們所能勝過的人。「孤兒」之名所指的，是那些尚且柔嫩、立於聖教會之內的人，他們的生命被一位慈憐的父在死時所保全，他們已被引向美好的心志，卻在善行上尚未被任何德行所堅固。

Haeretici igi tur depraedantes pupillos vim faciunt, quia contra infirmas fidelium mentes verborum et operum vio- lentia grassantur. Vulgus autem pauperum est po- pulus indoctus, qui si verae sapientiae divitias habe- ret, vestimentum suae fidei nequaquam amitteret. Qua i quidam quippe intra sanctam Ecclesiam sena- tores sunt, b veri doctores, qui cum scientiam in corde multiplicant, veris apud se divitiis abundant. Sed haeretici vu'gus pauperum spoliant, quia dum doctos non praevalent, indoctos quosque a valamine fidei praedicatione pestifera denudant. Sequitur:
The heretics, therefore, plundering the orphans, do violence, because against the weak minds of the faithful they rage with the violence of words and works. But the common crowd of the poor is the unlearned people, who, if they had the riches of true wisdom, would by no means lose the garment of their faith. For there are certain senators, as it were, within holy Church — the true teachers — who, when they multiply knowledge in their heart, abound with true riches in themselves. But the heretics despoil the common crowd of the poor, because, while they cannot prevail against the learned, they strip the unlearned of the covering of faith by pestilent preaching. There follows:
