C ap. xv, vers. 1, 2. — Respondens autem Eliphaz Themanites, dixit: Nunquid sapiens respondebit quasi in ventum loquens, et implebit ardore stomachum suum? 28. Mali bonorum verba non rationis sententias, sed furoris stimulos censent. — Crebro jam diximus beatum Job typum sanctae universalis Ecclesiae, ami- cos vero illius haereticorum speciem tenere, qui, quasi ex defensione Domini, occasionem stultae locu- tionis inveniunt, et contumeliosa contra bonos verba jaculantur. Quibus cuncta quae a fidelibus sentiuntur quasi in ventum prolata displicent. Unde nunc di- citur: Nunquid sapiens respondebit quasi in ventum loquens? Nec bonorum verbi dicta rationis, sed sti- mulos furoris existimant.
Chapter xv, verses 1, 2. — But Eliphaz the Temanite, answering, said: Will a wise man answer as if speaking into the wind, and fill his stomach with heat? 28. The wicked reckon the words of the good to be, not the judgments of reason, but the goads of fury. — We have already often said that blessed Job holds the type of the holy universal Church, but his friends hold the likeness of heretics, who, as if out of a defense of the Lord, find occasion for foolish speech, and hurl contumelious words against the good. To whom all things that are felt by the faithful displease, as if uttered into the wind. Hence now it is said: Will a wise man answer as if speaking into the wind? Nor do they esteem the words of the good to be the utterances of reason, but the goads of fury.

Unde et subditur. Et im- plebit ardore stomachum suum. Quia ea etiam quae se sciunt contumeliose dicere, student semper, ut dictum est, ex Domini defensione palliare. Unde 404 Eliphaz subdit:
Hence too it is added: And fill his stomach with heat. Because even those things which they know they are saying contumeliously, they ever strive, as has been said, to cloak with a defense of the Lord. Hence Eliphaz adds:
