V ers. 15, 16. — Et cum spiritus me praesente trans- iret, inhorruerunt pili carnis meae; stetit quidam, cu- jus non agnoscebam vultum. 48. Modo fingunt in se incomprehensibilia novisse. — Ut incomprehensibilia se cognovisse indicent, non stetisse, sed transisse coram se spiritum narrant; et vultum se vidisse incognitum simulant, ut esse se ei cognitos qui ab humana mente cognosci non va- let ostendant. Ubi adhuc subditur:
Verses 15, 16. — And when a spirit passed in my presence, the hairs of my flesh stood up; there stood one whose countenance I knew not. 48. They now pretend to have come to know incomprehensible things in themselves. — That they may indicate that they have known incomprehensible things, they relate that a spirit did not stand, but passed before them; and they feign that they saw an unknown countenance, so as to show that they are known to Him who cannot be known by the human mind. Whereupon it is still subjoined:
