V ers. 12. — Noctem verterunt in diem. 47. Sancti malunt perpeti mala, quam bonorum cura fatigari. — Dissipatae etenim cogitationes noctem in diem vertunt, quia nonnunquam justis amplius placet ex adversitate mala perpeti quam ex prosperitate terrenae dispensationis cura fatigari. Sed quia nove- runt cautius, et adversa transire, et prospera rursus illucescere, apte subjungitur:
Verse 12.—'They have turned night into day.' 47. The saints prefer to endure evils rather than to be wearied by the care of good things.—For the dissipated thoughts turn night into day, because sometimes it pleases the just more to endure evils from adversity than to be wearied from prosperity by the care of earthly administration. But because they know more warily both that adverse things pass away and that prosperous things shine forth again, it is aptly added:
第十二節——「他們把黑夜變為白晝。」47. 聖徒寧願忍受禍患，也不願被善事的操勞所困乏。——因為那破碎的思念把黑夜變為白晝，因為義人有時更喜歡從患難中忍受禍患，而不願從興盛中被屬地料理的憂慮所困乏。但因他們更謹慎地知道：既知患難會過去，也知興盛會再度顯明，所以合宜地接著說：
