V ers. 6. — Condemnabit te os tuum et non ego, et labia tua respondebunt tibi. 31. Rectae fidei confessionem adversitatis flagellis puniri delirant. — Quia enim f ex errore confessionis existimant mala adversitatis erumpere, labia sua ei asserunt respondere, ut culpa eloquii sit causa fla- gelli. Aliquando vero eam comprimere quasi ratio- cinantes volunt. [ Vet. XV.] Unde Eliphaz beatum Job reprehendere quasi ex ratione conatur, dicens:
Verse 6: 'Your own mouth shall condemn you, and not I; and your lips shall answer against you.' 31. They rave that the confession of right faith is punished by the scourges of adversity. — Because they suppose that the evils of adversity break forth from the error of confession, they assert that his lips answer against him, so that the fault of his speech is the cause of the scourge. Sometimes indeed they wish to restrain it, reasoning as it were. Whence Eliphaz endeavours to reprove blessed Job as though from reason, saying:
第六節：「定你罪的是你自己的口，不是我；你的嘴唇要作證控告你。」31. 他們胡言亂語，說正信的告白遭受逆境鞭撻的懲罰。——因為他們以為逆境之惡是從告白的錯謬中爆發出來的，便斷言他的嘴唇控告他自己，好使言語的過錯成為鞭打的緣由。他們有時又彷彿以推理來加以壓制。故以利法彷彿憑理性設法責備蒙福的約伯，說：
