Dei voluntatem in Scripturis scrutari, alia justo- rum sollicitudo. — Sicut bene obsequentes famuli dominorum suorum g vultibus semper intenti sunt, ut ea quae praeceperint, festine audiant et implere con- tendant, sic justorum mentes per intentionem suam, omnipotenti Domino assistunt, atque in scriptura ejus quasi os ejus intuentur, ut quia per eam Deus loquitur omne quod vult, tanto a voluntate ejus non discrepent, quanto camdem voluntatem illius in ejus eloquio agnoscunt. Unde fit ut ejus verba non per eorum aures supervacue transeant, sed haec iu suis cordibus figant. Unde hic subditur:
Verse 12. From the commandments of His lips I have not departed. 43. To search out God's will in the Scriptures is another solicitude of the righteous. — Just as servants who obey well are ever intent upon the faces of their masters, so that they may quickly hear and strive to fulfill what they command, so the minds of the righteous, through their intention, stand attendant upon the almighty Lord, and in His Scripture behold as it were His face; so that, because through it God speaks all that He wills, they so far diverge not from His will, as they recognize that same will of His in His utterance. Whence it comes to pass that His words pass not idly through their ears, but they fix these in their hearts. Whence here it is subjoined:
第十二節。「祂口中的誡命我未曾離棄。」四十三、在聖經中查考神的旨意，乃義人另一樣的殷勤。——正如善於順服的僕人常常注目主人的臉，好快快聽見並竭力遵行主人所吩咐的，照樣，義人的心藉其專注侍立在全能的主面前，並在祂的聖經中彷彿觀看祂的臉；因為神藉聖經說出祂一切所願的，他們就越在祂的言語中認出祂的旨意，越不偏離祂的旨意。由此，祂的話便不徒然地從他們耳邊經過，乃將這些話釘在他們心中。因此這裡接著說：
