702:1
V ers. 27.
Verse 27. — Whom I myself shall see, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. 77. Our flesh after the resurrection will be the same in nature, and different in glory. — For if, as certain followers of errors suppose, after the resurrection the body will not be palpable, but the subtlety of an invisible body will be called flesh, although it be not the substance of flesh, then assuredly he who dies is one, and he who rises is another. But blessed Job destroys this opinion for them with a truthful voice, saying: Whom I myself shall see, and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
Sequitur:
But we, following the faith of blessed Job, and truly believing that the body of our Redeemer after the resurrection was palpable, confess that our flesh after the resurrection will be both the same and different: the same in nature, different in glory; the same in truth, different in power. It will therefore be subtle, because also incorruptible. It will be palpable, because it will not lose the essence of its true nature. But the holy man adds with what hope he holds, and with how great a certainty he awaits, that same confidence of the resurrection. It follows:
